Bordeaux Excursions
Saint-Emilion and the Libourne area

A mosaic of “terroirs”

This tour will take you 40 km to the North of Bordeaux. To get there, we will cross the rivers Garonne and Dordogne.

In the heart of a vineyard that dates back to Roman times, we find the villages of Fronsac, Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, the later dresses itself in a limestone amphitheatre, proudly flying Ausone, Cheval-Blanc and Petrus as banners.

From the banks of the Dordogne and the Isle, vines rise up and over the sunny hills and slopes, offering splendid panoramic balconies over the region. Here, merlot is sovereign and each parcel of vine produces a wine of character, quite distinct from the neighboring ones.

World-wide reference in medieval history and rich in monuments, Saint-Emilion is listed Unesco World Heritage since 1999. Its alleyways and terraces, the secrets of its monolithic caves and the authenticity of the wine growers will charm you.

You will taste wines made with passion…
